Testimonials
After being recommended to The Jewelry Café by another artisan, I met with owner Laura Brown and immediately felt welcomed. Her strong passion for her artisans and customers is evident every time we speak. Whether hosting special “Meet the Artisans” days, issuing press releases on upcoming events (e.g. an artist becoming published) or inviting the local news into the store, Laura is constantly working to share The Jewelry Café experience with everyone. Laura has succeeded in creating an artisan community where more than 30 artists can showcase their work in a lovely environment with an extremely knowledgeable team. From my own experience, because I work with some unusual materials (vintage bottle caps and sea glass) Laura and I spent a great deal of time discussing what I use in my designs so she could share that information with our customers. Based on her feedback, next to my work now stands my bio and we are providing descriptive cards for customers detailing the materials used in their purchase. These were both Laura’s ideas and really add to the customer’s shopping experience. From a business point of view, Laura goes “above and beyond” to ensure her artisans are aware of store happenings. Emails, phone calls and monthly newsletters all add to the positive experience of joining The Jewelry Café family. Monthly checks are delivered timely with invoices detailing transactions and a well-thought out inventory coding system makes it easy for an artisan to deliver new inventory.
